Christmas Moments

I don't know whether we'll miss these holidays that have just passed, but I know that our three year old won't let us forget them. He has continued to sing Christmas carols with his own style and flare. We will always remember his sister's rendition of "Po-lice Naughty Dog" and now his rendition of "Fwosty the Snowman... Was a Jolly Rancher Soap". Children get mesmerized by different traditions of the holidays, and those moments are the special memories that last with us.

We won't forget "Jingo Bews, Jingo Bews, Jingo aw da way"...followed by our son and nephew's happy shout of "hey" at the end of each verse...over and over and louder and louder as we headed home for the grandparents on Christmas Eve. The happy laughter of the grandparents and parents and three year old boys in the car was definitely a jolly ol' time we'll always remember.

We'll also never forget those little orange Nerf darts, stuck to just about everything. Daddies and three boys spent hours loading, shooting, finding and reloading those silly dart guns. Protective goggles, target vests, and flying, whirring darts, along with huge grins, squeals, and giggles of the little boys will be special memories as well.

Then there were the, shall we delicately say, peeing dolls" or more specifically, the Baby Alive dolls that the girls played with, kissed, fed and of course diapered for hours. It was impossible to walk into their room and maintain dry feet, as the wet diapers littered the floor (they were letting them dry). Then there was the orange stains on clothing, carpet, and bedding as the play baby food somehow got splattered all over as well. But boy did those girls have fun with them.

Never a moment of hunger, never a moment of quiet, but a special chapter filled with precious Christmas memories.
